AIRPORT SHUTTLE
 
We strongly recommend booking airport transfer before your arrival to the Faroe Islands. The airport is situated approximately 45 km from Tórshavn, and the public transport from the airport is as good as non-existent. If you do not book your transfer in advance, you risk being stranded at the airport for a few hours, which is something we want to avoid. We want to make sure that you have a good experience from start to finish.

13:00-17:00 Cruise onboard the Faroese Schooner Norðlýsið
 
 
Experience the Faroe Islands' unique environment at sea. Cruising on an authentic wooden sailship allows you to experience (and take part in) sailing at its best. From the spacious deck, you can enjoy fantastic views, the seabirds, and occasionally the seal in comfort. Sails, sea air and serenity is what this tour is all about. Welcome onboard!
 
Tour starting point: The ship's harbour spot at the pier by the restaurant Skeiva Pakkhús, Skálatrøð, Tórshavn.
 
Price per person: DKK 1.095.

Included: Coffee and tea with local pastry are offered onboard.
If you prefer something else, a selection of beer and soft drinks are offered for sale.
 
What to bring: Warm clothes and rainwear. Watertight footwear. You may not need it, but again you may.
 
 
08:30-16:15 Sandoy Saga Tour and Historic Kirkjubøur
 
 
On this full day excursion you will begin by taking a bus ride to the island of Sandoy through the newest and longest sub-sea tunnel in the Faroe Islands.
There you will visit the 19th century church in Sandur, walk through the old village of Húsavík, visit the picturesque isolated village of Dalur, visit the site of a late 19th Century shipwreck and a spot of magic.
 
From there you will drive back to the beautiful old village of Kirkjubøur (Church’s Field). Here you will visit the oldest church still in use in the Faroe Islands, the over 900 years old Ólavs church. Next is the ruin of the 14th century St.Magnus Cathedral, the site and reason for the second civil war in the Faroe Islands. This magnificent old structure is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Finishing the visit in the 950+ years old farmhouse, the Roykstova. This farm is the home of the Patursson family, currently headed by the 17th generation of the family running this farm.
 
Returning from Kirkjubør you will have the optional extra of joining a Guided Hiking Tour across the mountain and back to Tórshavn. The extra charge for the hiking is DKK 450 per person. Please inform us in advance if you would like to do the hiking.
 
Pick-up and drop-off at the hotels in Tórshavn.

Optional extra: Guided hike to Tórshavn. DKK 450 per person.
 
What to bring: We advise our customers to dress warmly and to bring waterproof clothing. Good outdoor hiking footwear is always advised.
 
 
13:00-17:00 Hiking Tour with the Farmer's Daughter
 
 
Please note: This tour starts and finishes at the parking lot just south of Hundsarabotn, close to Tórshavn, and you will need to arrange the transport there on your own, either with rental car or by taxi. The public bus does not drive there.
 
Please also note: The tour is confirmed with 4 or more participants. If we have less bookings for this tour, we will return the fee.
 
This guided tour is inspired by the Faroese Sheep Letter, the oldest surviving document on the Faroe Islands, and how it still affects agricultural practices some 700 years later.
 
Step back in time and witness some of the most spectacular, natural scenery in the Faroe Islands, incl. the historically significant Brynjumannaborð, the old, charming road Oyggjargøta, the beautiful river Skeiðsá, followed by a stop at the significant landmark Koppurin. From there we venture off to á Stall, which gives you a clear view of the two towering mountains Skælingur and Sornfelli.
 
Throughout the tour, your guide – the farmer’s daughter – will be talking you through significant historical events, past and present, and the family farm's role in some of them. She will be talking about the 700-year-old Sheep Letter, how it came to be, and how it affects her family's farm to this very day.
 
Hiking difficulty: Average.
 
Starting point: The parking lot just south of Hundsarabotn, close to Tórshavn.

What to bring: Warm waterproof clothes and very good hiking shoes are strongly recommended.
 
 
09:45-15:50 Kalsoy Island and Kallur Lighthouse Tour
 
 
Please note: This tour starts and finishes in the city of Klaksvík and you will need to arrange the transport there on your own, either with rental car or by taxi. The public bus does not make it there in time for the tour but you can take it toTórshavn after the tour departing at 18:05.
 
Explore the most awe-inspiring sights on Kalsoy Island with comfort and ease. This tour includes the famous Kallur Lighthouse standing only meters from the black promontory hundreds of meters above sea level as well as the nearby James Bond memorial.
 
09:45 Meet with the guide next to the ferry for your tickets and walk onto the ferry to Kalsoy Island departing at 10:00 am.
 
When you step on land on Kalsoy Island 20 minutes later, a shuttle bus awaits you. A local experienced driver will take you through the dark and narrow tunnels connecting the valleys on Kalsoy island. You will head to the remote village of Trøllanes. When you get to Trøllanes at 11:00 am, a local tour guide will greet you. From this uncrowded little village, your guide will take you along the mountain path to Kallur  Lighthouse on the very tip of this outlying island.
This less than one-hour hike each way is considered a moderate/challenging hike and will take you to one of the most iconic sights in the Faroe Islands. When you reach the edge of the cliff where men planted the lonely lighthouse, you will get one of the most otherworldly experiences in nature. Enjoy breathtaking views of the sheer rock wall  Borgarin that goes vertically into the open ocean and the neighboring islands. You will feel amazing standing firmly on the island’s plateau with breathtaking views. Watch the many birds fly underneath you and above your head. Travelers say they get an immense feeling of serenity on this tour.
 
When you return to the village Trøllanes at 13:00, a friendly driver awaits you. The driver will take you to the village of Mikladalur. You will spend some hours independently in Mikladalur enjoying the tranquil village life.
Make sure to take the epic stairs in Mikladalur down to the Seal Woman statue standing next to the unbelievable coastline. After your visit to Mikladalur, a driver will pick you up and take you to the ferry port.
 
You will take the return ferry from Kalsoy island to Klaksvík departing at 15:30.
 
Tour starting point: Ferry point, Stangavegur, Klaksvík.
 
Price per person: DKK 1.398.
 
Included: Ferry ticket from Klaksvík to Kalsoy island (and back again). Local driver and bus on Kalsoy island. Local tour guide on the bus. Local tour guide to Kallur Lighthouse. 200 DKK mandatory farmer’s hiking fee.
 
What to bring: Warm waterproof clothes and very good hiking shoes are strongly recommended. Also very welcome to bring walking sticks if you got them.
 
 
09:30-13:30 Authentic Fishing Experience and Sightseeing
 
 
Embark on a captivating fishing expedition around Nólsoy island. Sail across placid waters, enjoy catching different fish species like cod, haddock, and elusive halibut.
 
Nólsoy isn’t just for fishing. It’s a birdwatcher’s haven, hosting one of the world’s largest storm petrel colonies. Witness puffins, guillemots, and gannets nestled on the cliffs.
 
On navigating the island, you might be lucky to spot seals lounging on shores or whales occasionally surfacing.

Tour starting point: Undir Bryggjubakka, Tórshavn.
